Living in the Light
Probably the three Magi never made it to the manger, and nowhere does the bible say there were three. But another lesson from these Christmas stories is that seeking spiritual light - epiphany moments - is critical to our well being.

Many people think you don’t have to go to church to believe in God. But it helps if you do. Pursuing a definite cause and practicing your faith in the company of others strengthens both your beliefs and your health.

A Verb or a Noun
The Greek language, from which much of the English bible was translated, has three words for love where English has one. So then what does “love” mean when Jesus asked us to love God, to love him, or to love each other? Even his disciples had trouble understanding him.

Blessings and Woes
When Jesus said ‘Blessed are the poor’, he didn’t necessarily mean that wealth is bad. It’s how we let it affect us, the risk being that good fortune distracts from and substitutes for our faith. When a time comes we need spiritual sustenance, it’s not there. And those times will come.

Missing Moments
Remember moments when your face shone with pride, accomplishments love, faith? Those moments and events have helped make us who we are, for even when life attempts to dull them, they are still within us; moments not to be missed, moments not to be forgotten.

The Devil Made Me Do It
The three temptations the devil offered Jesus in the desert illustrate and guide us in challenges we face daily, not only in how we practice our faith, but even in how we save for our retirement, or shop for groceries.
